Changelog
What's new in BeerTune
-
New
- • See the real interface before you sign up — the landing page now walks through the dashboard, the taste radar, the blind-vs-informed gap and what tasters said, all from sample data.
- • Referrals now give you something real: when a brewer you invited adds a beer and collects their first tasting, you both unlock brewery branding permanently — your name and logo on your tasting forms and in the middle of your QR codes.
- • Every chart axis is labelled, and the numbers explain themselves — hover the “?” next to blind, informed or gap for a plain-language explanation.
Improved- • The taste radar now marks “balanced” with a green ring, so you can see at a glance which characteristics drifted and in which direction.
- • Pricing, legal and changelog pages have proper navigation instead of just a logo.
- • All email preferences live in one place on your profile, rather than being split across two sections.
- • Brewery branding now clearly shows as locked on the free plan instead of silently ignoring what you type.
Fixed- • Plan names and descriptions showed in English on Hungarian pages.
- • Every page showed the same browser tab title.
- • The old referral reward — “a free month of your current tier” — could never actually be paid out. Any referral that had already earned the new reward has been credited retroactively.
- • The inline “rate it yourself” demo is gone. You cannot taste through a screen, and the question gave that away — scanning the QR opens the real tasting form for a real sample beer instead.
-
New
- • “What tasters said” — your beer page now sums up the chips into a single verdict, like “+ refreshing (9)” and “− too bitter (5)”, instead of leaving you to count them.
- • “What to change next batch” — when tasters lean the same way on body, bitterness, carbonation or aroma, we say so plainly: “Bitterness — 80% said too much”.
- • Taste radar — a shape showing how far each characteristic drifted from “just right”. Spikes outward mean too much, inward means too little.
- • Shareable result card — one click turns your scores into an image you can post to a homebrew group, print, or send to your tasters. Free on every plan.
- • Tasters now see their own blind-vs-informed shift when they finish, with a note on what it says about their palate.
- • Version comparison is now free for homebrewers. Comparing v1 to v2 is the whole point of BeerTune, so it should never have been a paid extra.
Improved- • The reveal now turns over like a card, with the style, ABV and what you were aiming for — it was a single line of text before.
- • Tasters are asked for their email at the end, after they have seen the product work, instead of before they have tasted anything.
- • The landing page now says plainly what BeerTune is not — keep using Brewfather or BeerSmith for recipes; this only handles tasting feedback.
- • Free plan raised from 3 beers and 20 responses a month to 10 beers and 100 responses.
Fixed- • The dashboard no longer says “quiet week” directly above a beer card showing new responses — it now tells you when you are simply up to date.
- • Demo beers and their sample responses no longer count toward your real totals.
- • Emails now go out in your own language, and actually send — a mail server setting had been silently blocking every message.
-
New
- • Brew the next version of a recipe with one click — it inherits the name, style, and tasting card so ratings stay comparable.
- • Side-by-side version comparison — see how v1, v2, v3… score on every metric.
- • Hide individual responses from stats — great for filtering out the occasional troll without deleting the raw data. One click to restore.
Improved- • Beer series are now detected from the recipe lineage — no more aspirational "plan to iterate" checkbox.
- • Tasting card locks automatically on child versions so v1 and v2 stay apples-to-apples comparable.
- • Competition scoresheet renamed to "BJCP-style 2021" with a small disclaimer — BeerTune is not affiliated with the Beer Judge Certification Program.
- • BJCP-style scoresheet minimums now start at 1 instead of 0 to match the real scoresheet.
-
New
- • Edit, archive, and delete your beers right from the beer page.
- • Friendlier date picker with a built-in calendar — follows your app language.
Improved- • Blind-mode printable QR now hides the beer name so tasters stay blind.
- • Beer form is clearer about which fields tasters see and which stay private.
- • Response count no longer includes visitors who opened the page but never answered.
- • More of the app is translated to Hungarian — plan descriptions and BJCP style categories.
Fixed- • Draft tasting state now survives locale switches and page reloads.
- • Public tasting form no longer errors out when moving between phases.
-
