Who we are

BeerTune ("we", "us") provides a SaaS platform that helps homebrewers and breweries collect structured feedback on their beers. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have under the GDPR.

Data we collect

  • Account: name, email address, hashed password, and (for social login) the provider user ID and avatar URL.
  • Beer content you create: beer name, style, notes, QR tokens.
  • Feedback responses: optional name and email of the taster, ratings, free-text notes, IP address, user-agent string.
  • Billing: plan, subscription status, discount codes used. We do not store card numbers; if Stripe is enabled, your card is tokenised by Stripe directly.
  • Technical: session cookies and standard server logs for the duration needed to operate the service.

Why we process your data (legal basis)

  • Contract: to provide the service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interest: to keep the service secure and improve it based on aggregate usage.
  • Consent: when you voluntarily submit tasting feedback with your name or email.

Who can see your data

Feedback you submit on a beer is visible to the brewer who owns that beer. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing. We use the following processors:

  • Hosting and database infrastructure.
  • Transactional email provider (to send verification and password reset emails).
  • Stripe (when paid subscriptions are active).
  • Google and Facebook (only if you choose social sign-in).

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Feedback responses are tied to the beer they belong to and are deleted when the beer or your account is deleted. Server logs are typically rotated within 30 days.

Your rights

  • Access — view your data from your profile page and via the "Export my data" link.
  • Rectification — edit your name, email, and password on the profile page.
  • Erasure — delete your account, which cascades all your beers and responses.
  • Portability — download a JSON export of your account from the profile page.
  • Object or complain — contact us or your local data protection authority.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the service: a session cookie to keep you logged in, a CSRF cookie to protect forms, and an XSRF cookie for the Livewire stack. No tracking or advertising cookies.
